Donic Rubbers
Donic table tennis rubbers — the Bluefire, Bluestorm, Acuda and Baracuda families, plus classic and training sheets below them.
The families mark out different intentions, not a good-better-best ladder, so start by picking the intention. Bluefire and Bluestorm are the high-tension offensive sheets built for speed and spin; Acuda sits on a softer, more controllable footing; Baracuda is the grippier, spin-first surface favoured by looping and topspin play. Within a family the number or suffix grades the sponge, so sheets from the same family share a character and differ mainly in hardness.
A rubber is the sheet that glues onto a blade and provides the playing surface. It's a wearing part — grip falls away with use, so budget for replacing sheets periodically — and it's sold as a single sheet, so a full racket needs two. Go thinner for control and touch, thicker if you want the sponge to store more energy.

Versions V1 and R1 of the BlueGrip were already a revolution: The best of both worlds in one rubber! Now DONIC is taking this development one step further. With the BlueGrip C1 and C2, DONIC has added two versions to this series that outshine everything that has come before them. The following
also applies to these two versions: The DONIC BlueGrip has a tacky, Chinese-style topsheet, along with a sponge with a powerful catapult effect and incredible dynamic properties, the likes of which we only see from rubbers from Japan or Germany. But there is more – these dynamic properties have now been increased even further. With a sponge hardness of 60°, the C1 version gives the ball an even greater arc when playing topspin strokes and provides even more speed, while the C2 has a slightly softer sponge and subtle differences in the pimple geometry, all of which provides further support for the softer playing feel.

The Success Story of the Bluegrip Series Continues
The new component in the BLUEGRIP J series combines the strengths of two rubber sheets. Under the direction of the new DONIC partner Zhang Jike, a symbiosis of the BLUESTAR A and BLUEGRIP C series was created. The top sheet mixture of the BLUESTAR A provided the basis for this combination, while the sponge structure and the geometry of the top sheet pimples are identical to those of the BLUEGRIP C. The result is a new rubber sheet that meets the highest demands: very dynamic and extremely spin-friendly, powerful and yet with good feeling.
Three versions are also available in this DONIC rubber series: BLUEGRIP J-1 is the hardest version, J-2 the medium version and J-3 the softest sponge version. China's superstar Zhang Jike personally spent countless hours of testing during the development work to perfect the fine-tuning of the nuances. The result is an impressive mix of the positive characteristics of two proven rubber series, the DONIC BLUEGRIP J. The fact that this new series with the “J” is named after him, Zhang Jike has more than deserved.

Donic BlueGrip S1: The model for stronger professional players for whom the S2 is a little bit too soft, but who do not want to be without the touch and the pleasure of rotation of a real BlueGrip. Recommended for offensive table tennis players who strive for perfect coordination of spin and speed. The BLUESTAR has great potential to become the new star among the DONIC table tennis rubber sheets because of its new technology.
The secret of the BLUESTAR lies in its rubber sponge, it is completely different from all other sponges of the DONIC rubber sheets. The developers have proudly called the underlying technology "Optimised Energy Sponge", OPTE for short. A small-pored sponge that sets new standards in terms of elasticity and dampening level due to its special composition, and you can feel this technology instantly when playing.
The fantastic catapult and speed characteristics make the DONIC BLUESTAR A1 an exceptional product. The top sheet unlike the successful rubbers of DONIC’s BLUEGRIP C-Touch series is only slightly sticky but extremely grippy.
The former world champion Jörgen Persson is enthusiastic about this new development. "I have never before played such an excellent table tennis rubber," explained the Swedish legend. With a 52,5 degree sponge the BLUESTAR A1 appears relatively hard but only at first glance. In the hands of professional players it quickly becomes a strong trump card. Nevertheless, also ambitious table tennis players who are not active in the top classes can also enjoy the BLUESTAR, although it is particularly recommended for players who practice intensively.

The star gets company
Within a very short time, the DONIC BlueStar A1 has become the star among the rubber sheets. Its fantastic catapult and speed characteristics are due to the fine-pored sponge, but also the only slightly sticky but extremely grippy top sheet significantly contributes to the outstanding playing characteristics.
Now the high-quality DONIC rubber sheet is getting company.
The BlueStar A2 and BlueStar A3 are alternatives for all pros who find the 52.5° sponge of the BlueStar A1 too hard or who prefer a slightly softer sponge hardness. The new models are available with sponge hardness of 50° (BlueStar A2) and 47,5° (BlueStar A3). The technology that makes the small-pored sponge of the BlueStar so special is, of course, also used with these versions: Optimised Energy Sponge (OPTE) sets standards in terms of elasticity and shock absorbing level. Development, production and processing of the BlueStar meet the highest requirements, which is why this is the epitome of the rubbers. Now also available with slightly softer sponge hardness, which is ideal for most advanced players that play up to professional level.
