Victas Rubbers
VICTAS table tennis rubbers, made in Germany and Japan. The V-series and VENTUS sheets are produced in Germany; the CURL long-pip and VJ ranges are made in Japan. The range covers inverted, short-pip and long-pip surfaces at sponge hardnesses from 25° to 57.5°, which spans defensive, allround and offensive play. A rubber is the sheet that glues onto a blade and provides the playing surface, and it's a wearing part: grip falls away with use, so budget for replacing sheets periodically.
VICTAS publishes a rating out of 10 for each one — speed, control, spin, trajectory and sheet strength — alongside the sponge hardness in degrees, so you're comparing real numbers rather than marketing copy.
Read the name as a specification. The suffix is the sponge hardness grade: Limber 40°, Regular 42.5°, Stiff 45°, Extra 47.5°, Double Extra 50–52.5°. The TRIPLE series uses its own scale (Regular 42.5°, Extra 55°, Double Extra 57.5°), so check which series a sheet belongs to before reading a grade across.
Three surface types, each measured on its own terms, so read a figure against its own type. Inverted (pimple-in) rubbers present a smooth face for spin and speed. Short-pip and long-pip (the CURL series) rubbers present the pimples outward and behave differently on incoming spin. VICTAS measures inverted and pimple-out rubbers on separate standards, so a speed figure is only meaningful against another rubber of the same type. Pimple-out rubbers are not given a sheet-strength figure, and the long-pip CURL series is published without performance figures.
Thickness options are per rubber, and the choice is a real trade-off. Published choices are OX (no sponge at all), 0.5, 1.0, 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 mm, plus MAX — which VICTAS names as an option rather than assigning a millimetre figure. Go thinner for control and touch, thicker if you want the sponge to store more energy. Rubbers are sold as single sheets in red or black unless the option list says otherwise.

The V > 01 Limber rubber is the slightly softer and more controlled version of the VICTAS V > 01 premium series for ambitious players. The goal of the development of this version was to produce a High-End offensive rubber in the medium segment. The German and Japanese material experts (GJ Tec) combined the extremely spinny and fast High Energy Tension rubber sheet of V > 01 with an open-pore, state-of-the-art medium sponge with great catapult effect. The result is a highly-elastic, modern offensive rubber which does not fall short of the other V > 01 versions as regards power and spin. The “Power & Balance” concept was optimized such that the slightly softer sponge design of V > 01 enables higher ball trajectories, which significantly increases forgiveness in less-than-perfect topspin strokes. In attacking strokes, the rubber provides for fantastic feel for speed plus inimitable speed glue effect.
SWAT PW SPIN is a modern offensive rubber “Made in Japan.” The harder version and consistent further development of the popular SWAT SPIN increases performance and stability in all offensive strokes. The open-pore, state-of-the-art 45° high-performance sponge which is slightly softer than in V > 01 provides for more control in your play (“Power & Balance concept”).
