Z2 has a long, thin pimple structure and a large pored sponge. This 47.5° medium hard sponge is ideal for many players. Z3 with its large pored 42.5° sponge is considerably softer. This makes a big difference. One not only feels it but also hears it. Lovers of freshly glued rubbers will delight in the sound. An attacking stroke with Bluestorm Z3 sounds like the crash of thunder, yet the topspin player remains in full control.

Go to the limit: The DESTO F1-HS leads the way

Almost all top professionals prefered to play with somewhat harder rubbers. They then used many layers of speed glue to bring the rubber up to full speed and maximum performance. With DONIC DESTO F1-HS, we have adopted a similar principle: we have incorporated a maximum speed-glue effect into a sponge with 50 degree hardness. The built-in speed-glue effect neutralizes the hardness, giving it a softer feel and thereby increasing ball control.

Even though we have increased DESTO F1-HS's speed, it is very spinny and feels like it has a medium-hard sponge rather than a hard sponge!

However, this rubber does not require speed glue! The distinctive sound has been firmly and permanently incorporated into the rubber. Desto F3 Big Slam is somewhat softer, but not significantly slower, than its successful sibling Desto F3. It has the same amazingly simple ball control, but gives the same effect as optimum speed glue. Whether you prefer Desto F3 or Desto F3 Big Slam is a matter of taste—or, should we say, of sound preference.
