Double Continental Bronze: Team Canada Delivers at the 2026 ITTF Pan American Championships
The 2026 ITTF Pan American Championships in Lima, Peru (October 18–25, 2026) brought together the finest table tennis athletes across the Americas. After days of intense team clashes at the Villa Deportiva Nacional, Canada’s national teams delivered a stellar statement: a double bronze medal finish in both the Men’s and Women’s team events!
Facing powerhouse lineups and tactical pressure from continental rivals, Canada showed depth, resilience, and unity from the opening matches through to the medal podium.
Outstanding Leadership and Emerging Depth
Both national squads demonstrated why Canadian table tennis continues to climb the international hierarchy:
• Women’s Team: Anchored by Olympic veteran Mo Zhang alongside Sunny Zhang, Katherine Morin, and 11-year-old rising sensation Olivia Wang, the women’s squad showcased a perfect blend of seasoned international experience and fearless young talent. Their cohesive play and clutch doubles victories powered them into the continental final four.
• Men’s Team: Featuring Eugene Wang, Olympian Edward Ly, Jordan Grewal, and Siméon Martin, the men’s squad battled through grueling multi-hour team ties. Their trademark counter-attacking game and tactical composure earned them a thoroughly deserved spot on the podium.
Guided from the corner by national coaches Hong Tao Chen and Maxime Surprenant, the entire contingent proved that Canadian table tennis possesses both elite pedigree and an exciting future.
