Table tennis blades — the wooden frame a racket is built on. A blade is bought once and kept, and the rubbers glued to it are replaced as they wear, so this is the part of a setup worth taking time over.
Construction is the first decision. An all-wood blade flexes more, gives the clearest feedback and is the usual recommendation while a stroke is still being learned. A composite blade carries a fibre layer that stiffens the frame and adds speed at the cost of some feel — carbon is the most common of those, with arylate-carbon, ZLC, aramid and fibreglass each trading stiffness against touch differently.
Then match the blade to how you actually play. Offensive blades are built to throw the ball back hard and suit a game played away from the table; allround blades give up some speed for control and are the easier place to develop a stroke. Where a blade sits on that scale matters more than its price does.
Weight and stiffness are the fine adjustment. Lighter blades are quicker to move into position and more forgiving over a long session; heavier ones carry more through the ball. A stiff blade returns energy directly, a flexible one lets the ball sit on the wood a fraction longer, which is what players mean by dwell.
Handle shape is a variant, not a different blade — flared (FL) widens toward the base and is the common choice, straight (ST) is even along its length and suits players who change grip, anatomic (AN) is contoured to the palm. Pick by what is comfortable in your hand, and remember a blade needs two rubbers to become a racket.

The Revoldia CNF represents a new technology with regards to blade construction. Unlike classic carbon fibers, ALC fibers, TAMCA fibers, or ZLC fibers, this new fibre brings a new standard with regards to blade design and performance. This new technology is called Cellulose NanoFiber, hence the CNF abbreviation. Cellulose Nanofiber is derived fibre from wood pulp. This pulp as been micro-refined to the nano level of several hundredths of microns, and smaller. The new special material has the characteristics of wood, with the same technology that has been used for carbon and other materials. What makes this blade stand out its ability to act like a carbon blade on attack shots, but the soft touch of wood on soft and medium efforts shots. Because the inter-woven wood pulp of the Cellulose Nanofiber increases how the wood functions at ball contact. The combination of 5 wood plies, and 2 nanofiber plies create low vibration and high reaction. This ensures that there is great feel as well as a high rebound when the ball is struck.

It celebrates the 25th anniversary of Sweden winning the World Championships Team title in Dortmund in 1989 (in a historic 5-0 final win against China). DONIC is exclusively producing three new blades in Germany, in honour of the legends Jan-Ove Waldner, Jörgen Persson and Mikael Appelgren. Hand crafted and employing the most modern precision and technical know-how, in acknowledgement of the supreme mastery with which the Swedish Superstars played. All three models have incorporated an Italian Spruce ply which is over 200 years old. This is combined with a 3mm strong centre veneer of Kiri and for the Appelgren All+ model, Ayous combined with a new Carbonfleece Zylong webbing (CF2), exclusive for DONIC. Only the finest saw plies of our own production are being used. These are more stable than the usual knife plies and are a guarantee that the blade retains its playing characteristics without the normal deterioration. A specially developed drying procedure reduces the moisture content of all three types of blade from 12 to 16% to only 4%, resulting in a stable and light blade (Waldner and Persson blades weighing approx. 85g and the Appelgren All+ blade only 80g approx.) Each individual blade is subjected to a special cold press for 24 hours. The employment of our unique 3D-technology and the most recent bio technology ensures that the handle is in perfect shape. Donic Classic Offensive Blade (FL/AN): For offensive players who are looking for the playing feel of classic blades. Very similar to the Classic Power Allround, with this decisive difference: With this offensive table tennis blade, the new textile fibre (flax cloth BF3) forms the core, which is covered by two layers of ayous on each side. The result is a more direct touch, more speed and more force, but since the outer veneer is made of spruce, it still provides good control. Therefore the Donic Classic Offensive 7-ply blade is not just exclusively for hard-line attackers.
