Donic Bluegrip Rubbers
DONIC’s max+ rotation and max+ catapult series: a tacky, Chinese-style topsheet for maximum rotation on a blue tension sponge with a powerful catapult. The harder C versions give topspin an even higher arc and more speed; the J versions combine the pimples of the Bluestar A with the sponge and geometry of the Bluegrip C; the slightly softer S versions use a medium-pore sponge.
Sponge hardness as DONIC gives it: C2 55°, J1 55°, J2 52.5°, J3 50°, S1 45°, S2 42.5°.
Inside the rubber
Fine-pore sponge on the C2 and the J1, J2 and J3: outstanding dynamics and a harder feel, so topspins fly flatter and straighter.
Medium-pore sponge on the S1 and S2: between the large-pore and fine-pore sponges in its effect.
FDC-Touch, DONIC’s answer to the plastic ball: a tacky, very grippy Chinese-style topsheet for maximum rotation on topspins and slices, on the blue tension sponge for a powerful catapult, strong dynamics and a high ball arc.
Full tension: the speed-glue effect built in to the maximum, as in almost all of DONIC’s newer rubbers.
From DONIC’s notes on rubber technology, DONIC catalogue 2026/27, page 31.

The future is already here. Versions V1 and R1 of the BlueGrip were already a revolution – the best of both worlds in one rubber – and now DONIC is taking this development one step further with the BlueGrip C1 and C2, two versions that outshine everything that has come before them.
They too have the tacky, Chinese-style topsheet of the DONIC BlueGrip, along with a sponge with a powerful catapult effect and incredible dynamic properties, the likes of which are only seen in rubbers from Japan or Germany, and these dynamic properties have now been increased even further.
The C1 version, with a sponge hardness of 60°, gives the ball an even greater arc when playing topspin strokes and provides even more speed. The C2 has a slightly softer sponge and subtle differences in the pimple geometry, all of which supports the softer playing feel: it is slightly softer and significantly lighter than the C1, with values of 55° and 80 g respectively.
For uncompromising offensive players that rely on speed and spin. Powerful catapult effect, incredibly spinny.
Technology: full tension sponge, tacky topsheet.
- Surface: sticky-elastic
- DONIC technology: FD3 Technology
The new component in the BLUEGRIP J series combines the strengths of two rubber sheets. Under the direction of the new DONIC partner Zhang Jike, a symbiosis of the BLUESTAR A and BLUEGRIP C series was created. The top sheet mixture of the BLUESTAR A provided the basis for this combination, while the sponge structure and the geometry of the top sheet pimples are identical to those of the BLUEGRIP C.
The Success Story of the Bluegrip Series Continues
The result is a new rubber sheet that meets the highest demands: very dynamic and extremely spin-friendly, powerful and yet with good feeling.
Three versions are also available in this DONIC rubber series: BLUEGRIP J-1 is the hardest version, J-2 the medium version and J-3 the softest sponge version. China's superstar Zhang Jike personally spent countless hours of testing during the development work to perfect the fine-tuning of the nuances.
The result is an impressive mix of the positive characteristics of two proven rubber series, the DONIC BLUEGRIP J. The fact that this new series with the “J” is named after him, Zhang Jike has more than deserved.
