Offensive Blades

Butterfly's newest 5-ply all-wood blade is the Falcima, and its balance of bounce and stability is excellent. The moderate weight is deliberate: neither too light nor too heavy, it makes the blade easy to swing and to generate power with.

The Falcima is an excellent choice for people that are just starting their table tennis journey as well as those that want good speed from a maneuverable wood blade. Players that are just getting started could benefit from the feel and control of Butterfly Sapphira rubber.

Butterfly Rozena and Roundell rubber model lines provide controllable power and high levels of spin to players transitioning to their first High Tension rubber.

To add more grip to this blade, you can get the Soft Grip Tape, providing grip and comfort to the racket handle. Another great choice to extend the longevity of your racket is adding side tape to the blade, protecting the wood in the event it is hit on the table.

The Butterfly BalsaCarbo X5 22 blade is the best of both worlds. Utilizing a thick Balsa wood centre ply in conjunction with 2 carbon plies, players are able to maintain exceptional touch without sacrificing too much power.

The soft feel makes over-the-table play, especially blocking, effortless and effective. Since the balsa keeps the blade light, you can still use heavier rubbers and not lose maneuverability.

Pairing this blade with Tenergy 80 FX is recommended for players looking to loop and block their way to victory. For players seeking something more direct, the flatter trajectory of Butterfly Impartial XS short pips will give your opponents fits.

To increase the grip on this blade, you can add Soft Grip Tape, providing grip and comfort to the racket handle. Another great choice to extend the longevity of your racket is adding side tape to the blade, protecting the wood in the event it is hit on the table.

The AK 23 is the blade of Annett Kaufmann, the Youth World Champion 2024. Its unique touch comes from the extremely stable “BULLET CARBON”, which sits directly under the outer ply of the AK 23. In short and fast open rallies, AK 23 not only confers tremendous speed, but also sufficient control and a great ball sensation: in a passive game put the adversary under pressure with precise block balls.

This wide variation and outstanding tempo characteristics are what set this absolute high-end product apart, as well as Annett’s playing style, which is why it bears her name.

A blade with a specialty: one side is inner carbon, the other is outer carbon. The outer side provides more power for hard and aggressive play, while the inner side conveys more feeling and control for service-receive situations and stable, well-placed attacks.

That makes it optimal for rather “one-sided” players, who need power and speed for their “stronger” side as well as control and safety for their “weaker” side. It perfectly supports Darko’s style, in which fast and hard backhand attacks are combined with a forehand stroke focused rather on spin and placement.

It confers a tremendous ball sensation and enormous power in the counter-spin game as well as from the half distance, and it also makes a wide variety of aggressive strokes over the table possible.

Quick flips and deep push shots leave you optimally prepared for your adversary’s strokes. In every respect these characteristics support Oh Junsung’s attractive playing style, and they make this the perfect choice for modern offensive players.
