Victas itself is a relative newcomer in the world of table tennis equipment. It was started in 2011 by Koji Matsushita from Japan, one of the world's best defensive players of recent times, as a brand focused on producing premium quality equipment for top players, and it is the Cadillac brand of parent company Yamato Takkyu.

Yamato Takkyu is one of the oldest table tennis companies in the world, having made excellent table tennis equipment for 86 years; its other, more well-known and established brand is TSP.
